The Aarhus Back yard

For a while I was working on an idea that came to me one day, as I was out for a stroll with my son. I passed by a wall where someone had hung up pieces of flesh (made of wood) on a string and written: Fleisch macht frei (‘flesh makes free’)
’Awesome!’ I thought. There must be so much art around the city, made by regular people. I began walking all over town, photographing all the pieces of street art I could find (and no doubt there is A LOT more to be found). I am going to use these photographs for a series of paintings called The Aarhus backyard.
These paintings are going to differ quite a lot from what I usually do. But since I am driven by curiosity, I have to experiment to develop.
This is the product of this. This project is currently on standby, since I found new inspiration elsewhere:)
